How to install the Sims 3 Create a World Tool so that it works with the Steam version of the game on Windows 7 32 and 64 bit operating systems.
InstallationWin real cash online free. I'm going to preface this guide by saying that by far the simplest way to get the Create a World Tool working is to register your game on The Sims 3 website then download and install the game through Origin.
Getting the Create a World tool to work with the Steam version of the game requires edits to the Windows registry.
*WARNING!* Making changes to the Windows registry incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall Windows. I have followed the steps outlined in this guide and it has worked for me without any issues however you make these changes at your own risk!
First, download the Create a World Tool from The Sims 3 website -> Link
Camplite by damon owners manual. If you try to install straight away it will tell you that you need to have Sims 3 installed and installation will fail as the Create a World tool does not recognise the Steam version of Sims 3's installation.
To get it to install you need to open notepad and copy and paste the following code

 'ProductID'=dword:000003e8PLEASE NOTE If you do not have Steam and/or The Sims 3 installed to the default location you will need to alter the 'Install Dir' and 'ExePath' lines of code to show the correct path! If you are not sure of the correct path please go to the third section of this guide titled Help.
After pasting the code into notepad and making any necessary changes go to File->Save as at the top left.
Make note of where you are saving the file to, then at the bottom of the ‘Save as' box that comes up, change ‘Save as type' to ‘All Files', give your file a name then change the .txt extension to .reg as shown in the picture below and hit save.
Now go to where you saved the file to and double click on it to run it. Windows will ask if you want the program to make changes to your computer, select yes and it will make the changes to your Windows registry.
Now you should be able to install the Create a World Tool on your PC. You are half way there.
If you receive an error accessing the registry at this point, please go to the bottom of the Help section in this guide.
Getting the installed tool to see your Sims 3 contentSo now you have the Create a World Tool installed on your PC but if you try to run it you will get an error saying that it can't find your Sims 3 content after which it closes without starting.
To fix this you need to make another addition to the Windows registry.
This time you need to go to Start at the bottom left of your desktop, type RegEdit into the search box then hit Enter on your keyboard to bring up the Registry Editor.
In the Registry Editor, click on the small arrows to the left of the following files to expand them;
For Windows 7 32 bit;
HKEY_ LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE R kelly ignition acapella download.

Scroll down to find the Sims(Steam) file in the expanded list (Note there is an Electronic Arts folder which when expanded shows another Sims(Steam) file – this is NOT the file you want)
Right click on the Sims(Steam) folder and select Export as shown below.
In the Export Registry File popup box, make a note of which folder on your PC ‘Save In' says it will save the file to. Then give your file a name and change ‘Save as type' to 'Win9x/NT4 Registration Files (*.reg)' and hit Save.
Now go to the location where that file was saved, right click on the file and select ‘Open with -> Notepad'
Go to Edit -> Replace at the top left, then in the box that comes up – in the Find What: searchbox type Sims(Steam) and in the Replace: search box type Sims, then select ‘Replace All' and save.
Now go back to the Registry Editor and go to File->Import at the top left. Find the registry file that you just edited and import it by selecting ‘open'.
The Create a World tool should now work for you with the Steam version of Sims 3.

How to check your installation path
in the Steam client, Library section, right click on the name of the game and select properties from the dropdown list:
Then in the Local Files tab select ‘Browse Local Files'
This will open the folder on your PC where The Sims 3 is installed and the address bar at the top shows you the installation path.
If you click on the above picture you can see that I do not have Steam or Sims 3 installed to the default path. In my case it is as simple as changing the 'c' in the path for the code to an 'F'
Error Accessing the registry.
If you are receiving the above error then you need to give yourself administrators access in Windows before changing the registry will work.

Additional InformationAs I said at the beginning, I have followed the steps outlined in this guide and now have the Create a World tool working with the Steam version of Sims 3 (I don't have a retail or Origin version of the game installed.)

Sooner or later when you play the Sims 1, you're going to start wishing you had a handy tool to make playing the game easier, create your own custom content and fix problems you may encounter. If you've reached that point, here is a list of programs that you're sure to find helpful.
SIMS TRANSMOGRIFIERThe Sims Transmogrifier-- or T-Mog, for short-- is the program to make your own objects. (Yes, folks, this is the one you use to make it happen!) It's very easy once you get the hang of it; however, in the beginning it takes some getting used to. The original Transmogrifier site seems to be broken. However, you can download a copy of T-Mog below.
FILE COPDownloading can be fun, but sometimes it comes at a price.Whenever your game acts up after you've installed new skins, chances are it is because of a bad skin file you just downloaded. This program allows you to check and remove whatever bad skin files are causing your game to shut down.
SIMPOSESimpose enables you to take your Sims and pose them against a background of your choice. You can also use it to add new animations to the game. Many skinners and hackers used this program to show off their creations or create new animation. Some creative people used it to create cool graphics and comic strips. Definitely get this if you think you'll be skinning in the future or want to make graphics and comic books using sim characters.
IFF PENCIL 2This is a very handy program with a lot of uses, such as hacking, viewing iff files, and curing that annoying Upside Down Head Syndrome that everyone likes so much ;-).
HOME CRAFTERWith Home Crafter, you can create your own floors and wallpapers by importing graphic files. It's quite handy, especially if you're good with a paint program like Photoshop.
The Sims Creator No CdELI SIMSIf you don't like swapping families between neighborhoods the hard way (by copying .FAM files from the export folder into the import folder, etc.), you can use this program. With a click of the button, you can import families and houses from one neighborhood and bring them into another. You can also view an image thumbnail of .iff files-- a very handy if you like to build houses for download!
MAKE A DATEThis is a great program if you can't stand the Townies your game generates. Simply create your own Townie, then replace a pre-existing one with it.
SIM METAMORPHOSERAvailable at Paladin's Place (SimWardrobe.com), this program allows you to change the head and name of any one of your Sims. It's popularly known as the program to cure 'UCS'-- or 'Ugly Child Syndrome.'
FAR OUTAlso available at Paladin's Place is Far Out, a program in which you can view .far files and extract .bmf to .skn files. This program is invaluable if you want to use Sim Pose, because it allows you to import all the .skn and bitmap files from The Sims into it.
SIMS FILE MAIDI personally haven't used this program myself, but apparently it makes installing downloads easy for those who don't like to deal with WinZip. Works with all object files, with the exception of house files.
